Bread Bowls

Hello friends!
First of all I want so send out a sincere apology for my absence! Life has been keeping me very busy, and I have been struggling to find time to be on the computer! Now, where to begin?!! Alot has happened since I have been here last, I'll just blog about whats been going on {so you don't have to read all this blabberrrr...}
I have been very interested in making soup bowls since wellll....September, and i finally found the time to experiment! My sister, Carrie, was here for several days so we had a bread baking partyy! :) Which turned out to be very successful! :)
{if any one is interested in the recipe I will gladly share it! Leave your email address below}

bUttON hAiR CliPS

Great Stocking Stuffer Idea:
(aunt Rachel and aunt Barbara, don't take my idea!)

They are very fun inexpensive gifts that the girls are sure to love!
What you need:
Item #1:
BUTTONS!
(flower shaped, round, fun, colored buttons)
Item #2:
Bobby Pins
(colored one would be fun, but i couldn't find any!)

Item #3, #4 & #5:

Thread

(the thicker the better)

Needle

Scissors

Now that you have your Items all together it's time to start creating! :)

As you can see in the picture below I layered the colorful buttons and used cute ones like the ladybug! Also a suggestion is the cut leaves out of felt and sew them under the button!

Now the sewing...it took me a little to figure this one out.
(sorry i didn't take pictures of what I did..I'll try to explain it)
I tied (in lots of knots) one end of the thread to the bobby pin, then sewed on the button(s). When I was finished and thought it was tight I wasn't sure how I was going to make sure it stayed, so I just did several knots like you do when your hand sewing.
(best way I know to explain it...)

TA-DA!!

Then simply take a piece of card stock cut it to the size you would like, decorate it,
then finish it off by stamping, printing, or writing the child's name on the card! :)

Now the joy of the light in the girls eyes when they see these cute hair clips! :)
I would love to see pictures if any of you take up this cute project!
God bless!

*CaRaMEl VaNilla laTTE*

9/23/2009 ~ 9/30/2009
Mary Garber and Emily were here for a week!
Mary brought her Espresso Machine and I fell in love with
LATTES!
We made them everyday!

Tragedy struck, they had to go home!!!
That me no more lattes for me! :,(
So, in the mists of my sorrow I was online searching....................
I came across this page,
(suddenly remembered all those wonderful gift cards we got for our wedding and luckily had NEVER used)!!!!!!
So I called my wonderful husband and begged "HUNNY, can I please buy this Espresso Machine????? We have gift cards, we won't have to use any of our own money!!!!!!"
HE SAID, "Sure!!!!!"
(since I was the only one in the room I'll have to admit I did a little dance!!!)
AND ordered myself an Espresso Machine!
This week i have been waiting and waiting!!
I checked the tracking on the package everyday and all it says is IN TRANSIT! Arrival date: 10/05/2009! And Monday was not coming fast enough....
As I was sitting here at the computer after work I heard a vehicle door shut so I looked out the window and it was the UPS man!!!!!!!!!! I about had the door opened before he got to it! :) As I took the package he said, "You were fast today!" (in my head I'm thinking, I never thought you would get here!!!)
The box wouldn't open fast enough.........but when I finally got it open I was immediately the HAPPIEST woman on earth!!
I'm sure this is probably the most boring blog to read but I am the happiest lady right now, blogging and drinking a latte!
The machine works wonderfully, and makes VERY tasty drinks! :)
AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I hope this finds you all doing well! May the Lord bless your day! :)
